The Binney & Smith was a company founded by Edwin Binney and C. Harold Smith in the late 1800s. They initially focused on industrial colorings and later expanded to producing school supplies like slate pencils and dustless chalk. In 1903, they introduced the first box of Crayola crayons, which became a significant success. The company was later renamed Crayola LLC in 2007. Binney & Smith, now known as Crayola LLC, has its world headquarters and major manufacturing facilities in Lehigh Valley, Pennsylvania, specifically in Forks Township, Pennsylvania. The company has been located in this region since the early 1900s.
