The "Sons of Veterans" organization related to the Civil War is called the Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War (SUVCW), a fraternal group dedicated to preserving the memory and legacy of Union soldiers who fought in the American Civil War.

This Album houses photos of the SUVCW throughout the years.

This is a personal letter (four pages) written by Leroy Wheeler, Company F, 144th New York Volunteer Infantry (Union Army), Camp Bliss, Virginia, to his cousin, Sophia Wheeler of Rockland, New York. The letter is dated 19 November 1862, and appears to have been postmarked in Washington, D.C. Mr. Wheeler was born 24 February 1842 in Hancock, New York, and died 21 December 1932 in Missoula, Montana. This letter was donated by Judy Gelfand.

Historic names are also mentioned in the letter, as well as members of this gentleman's regiment. Historic names in the text include: Gen. Franz Sigel, Gen. Joseph Hooker, Gen. Ambrose Burnside, Gen. Robt. E. Lee, Gen Stonewall Jackson.
