NOTE: The Bell Tower ~ Band stand was built in 1871 in the middle of the square. It was a large imposing structure use to sound the alarm of a fire, preform concerts from and to give public addresses. I have been told by several people that there was a well in there that would provide water, but I have never been able to confirm it. The tower stood till 1882.
