Research by Susan Sonju: Franklin Henry "Frank" Keeshan (1889-1986) was adopted from the German Methodist Orphanage in Ohio by Louis Adolph Baumgarten sometime between 1900 and 1910. Frank took the name Baumgarten. He married Alpha Diemer, the daughter of Louis Baumgarten's sister Mary, and had children...all of them used the Baumgarten surname. But by the 1930 census he and his family had reverted to the Keeshan surname.
