This Letter Was Signed by Whitelaw Reid, a Horace Greeley sidekick & owner of the New York Tribune. In the Letter, Reid Tells the RNC about a former Confederate Officer, Colonel D. M. Hounshell of Virgina. According to Reid's sources, Houndshell was a hardcore Republican and well suited to speak on behalf of Blaine. The letter was written on New York Tribune Stationary on 30 June 1884.
